COURSE DESCRIPTION:
THIS IS AN INTRODUCTION INTO THE WORLD OF C.A.D. (COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN) IN THIS CLASS
WE WILL BE WORKING WITH GOOGLE SKECTHUP WHICH IS A FREE,  DOWNLOADABLE 3D MODELING PROGRAM.
EVEN THOUGH SKETCHUP IS EASY TO USE AND A FREE PROGRAM, IT IS WIDELY USED BY MANY PROFESSIONAL
ARCHITECTS, ENGINEERS, AND DESIGNERS. IT REALY IS AN AMAZING PROGRAM.
Some benefits to drawing and designing in CAD are:
                                    * Ability to show professional looking presentations to a potential customer.( via e-mail etc.)
                                    * accuracy ( as long as what you input is correct Computers Don't make mistakes)
                                    * make changes  easily without having to re-draw
                                    * quickly show a conceptual design to feel out a customer (Then go into more detail if you actually get the project).
                                     * easily show Multiple views from one drawing ( you don't need to draw each and every side, elevation, or view).
                                     * you can download different objects into a drawing quickly and easily such as ( Furniture, Plumbing Fixtures, appliances, You Name it it's probably available for free)
                                      *  The list goes on, The better you get the better your drawings will look.

MY OBJECTIVES FOR THE STUDENT ARE:
·       To introduce the student to the concepts of 3D modeling.
·       To familiarize the student with the drawing work space and how to navigate around in that space.
·       To learn the different tools that are available to create and manipulate shapes
·       To help the student understand how to make and use components and groups, and the differences between the two.
·       To get the student to a point were they feel they can work through a simple drawing on their own.
·       To spark enough of an interest that the student is willing to make the commitment to keep practicing so they can produce complex drawings on their own.
·       All this and to try to keep it fun, it’s pretty cool when you can show a customer a professional looking set of drawings.

* This is an 8 hour class divided into 4-2 hour sessions over a period of two weeks.
I want to keep this as condensed as possible so that the material covered in class is still fresh in the student’s minds from class to class.
Cost:
150.00 per student & requires access to lap top computer for class time.
Space is limited.
